Celebrating Love, Equality, and Belonging this Pride Month

At the Phillips Law Foundation, we believe Pride is about more than a month that comes once a year. It’s how we treat people, how we stand up for justice, and how we show up for one another and those in the LGBTQIA+ community. Our foundation proudly supports our LGBTQIA+ friends, family, neighbors, and fellow humans, not just in June for Pride Month in the United States but every day. We believe in a world where everyone is free to live authentically, without fear or discrimination, and one where everyone has the chance to rise.

Honoring Pride Month

This month, along with many other organizations, we celebrate the courage, resilience, and joy of LGBTQIA+ individuals while recognizing the work still needed to achieve true equality.

Pride began as a protest – a bold demand for dignity and rights. Today, it remains a powerful reminder that love is love, and everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and valued for who they are. Our organization works hard to help many marginalized groups feel empowered through works of compassion, action, and justice, and that includes the LGBTQIA+ community.

We’re grateful for the advocates, allies, and changemakers who lead with love and who fight for fairness, challenge injustice, and create spaces where no one feels less than for being themselves. Progress is possible because of their unwavering commitment, but the journey isn’t over.

Helping to Create a Brighter Future for Vulnerable Populations

LGBTQIA+ youth still face disproportionate rates of homelessness and mental health struggles. According to the Human Rights Campaign, “Research has shown that LGBTQ+ youth are over-represented in the foster care system,” and that “LGBTQ+ youth in foster care also face disparities – differences in experiences in care or treatment by the system.”

Kids in foster care are a population that our organization advocates for every day, along with other groups like our homeless neighbors. A lot of our work with these populations involves restoring a sense of self-worth and empowering individuals to rebuild their lives, and we believe this work to be more important than ever before.

In too many places, basic human rights are under threat. That’s why our foundation has committed to continuing to support organizations that uplift LGBTQIA+ voices, provide safe spaces, and push for policies that protect all people. We know that equality isn’t a privilege – it’s a right.

Phillips Law Foundation Marks Pride Month

This Pride Month, our team invites you to reflect on how you can make a difference. Listen to LGBTQIA+ stories, and stand up against discrimination. Donate to causes that matter. And most importantly, lead with kindness, today and always.

Together, we can build a future where everyone belongs. If you would like to get in touch about volunteer opportunities to serve communities with many LGBTQIA+ individuals, like kids in foster care or the homeless community, please contact us today to learn more.
